VISA INFORMATION

 

Citizens of the Russian Federation and other foreign nationals normally residing in the Russian Federation can obtain visas from the Embassy. Various kinds of visas and related information are given in the following paragraphs.

1.         Tourist visa

a.      For Russian Nationals.   Visa application form, in triplicate, should be completed in English. Four photograph, one to be affixed on each visa application form. Applicants are required to submit a letter from registered tourist company, return air ticket/computer print out indicating travel schedule, photocopy of International and Internal passport. Visa is provided for a maximum period of three months. The applicant may be physically required in the Consular Wing of the Embassy for an interview.  

b.      For Other Nationals.   Visa application form, in triplicate, to be completed in English. Four photographs to be affixed on each application form. Applicants are required to produce their valid Russian visa, resident permit, the validity of which should not be less than the duration of the requested visa period. The applicant may have to present himself in the Consular Wing of the Embassy for an interview. Tourist visa fee for tourists, not including mountaineers, is US$ 78.

2.         Visit Visa.      In addition to the requirements stated above in 1 (a), Russian visitors require an invitation from Ministry of Interior, Islamabad   

3.         Business Visa.        Three visa application forms along with four photographs along-with a recommendatory letter from the sending company and an invitation letter from the concerned Pakistani company are required. Pakistan has a liberal visa policy for investors and businessmen, as follows; 

a)                  Multiple entry visa for three years can be issued for bringing substantial investment in Pakistan.

b)                  Businessman desirous of establishing business offices in Pakistan can be issued multiple entry visa for one year on recommendation of the Embassy.

c)                  Regional Passport offices will issue visa extension up to one year with multiple entries and their accompanying spouses and dependent children on production of following documents:

i)                    Valid passport for the period for which visa extension is required.

ii)                   Proof of ownership of business, or

iii)                 Proof of partnership with the local businessman (this means business agreement between the foreigners and a registered local firm indicating the period for which business will be valid between the parties).

iv)                 Business visa holder claiming individual business or sole proprietorship is required to submit a written application explaining the business duly attested by a Notary Public/Oath Commissioner.

d)                  Passport offices shall regularize the same on payment of visa fee for the period in case of overstay upto a period of 90 days

e)                  The concerned passport office shall refer the matter to Interior Division for decision in case of overstay of more than 90 days

4.         Student Visa.           Student visas can be obtained on furnishing proof of admission to recognized universities/institutions in Pakistan for the duration of the course of study. Three visa application forms with four photographs and the admission letter from the concerned institute/school/college are to be submitted.

5.         Transit Visa.             Transit visas are required to be obtained before departure, as Transit visas for brief halts in Pakistan (upto 72 hours) en-route to other destinations, cannot be obtained from Immigration counters at the airports.

6.         Other Visas.             Applicants seeking visas for Research, attending International Conference and seminars held in Pakistan, film shooting, to visit spouses/near relatives of persons working/employed in Pakistan, etc., are required to submit relevant documents along with their visa applications. 

7.         Visa Fee.       For foreign nationals, fees may be ascertained from the Consular Section. Fee structure for Russian nationals is as follows;

8.         Visa Forms.   Visa forms can be obtained from Pakistan Embassy Moscow at the above addresses, or may be downloaded from the Internet. 

9.         Working Hours.    Visas applications can be submitted at the Consular Wing from 1000-1300 hours on all working days except Friday. Working hours on Friday are from 1500-1600 hours. Visas can be collected from 1500-1700 hours on all working days.

10.       Note.   Each visa application is considered on its merits and the Embassy may ask for additional information during processing of the application. The fact that an application has been made does not guarantee that a visa will be issued. The Embassy reserves the right to refuse any application.
